HISTORY
APE Image Consultants was established on 30th November 1990. The company initially sold office laminating and binding machines along with the attendant supplies such as plastic binding combs, clear covers, lamination pouches and film etc. In 1992 we moved from our first small premises to the front part of the building at 36/40 Bloomfield Avenue.By 1993 we were getting many requests from our customers for the production of laminated products and book binding which they were unable to cope with on their office equipment.
Over the following three years we took over the whole of the building at 36/40 Bloomfield Avenue and during that time made heavy investments in the purchase of automated binding and encapsulation equipment. By 1996 we were established as the Largest trade finishing house for wire binding and encapsulation in Luton.
From 1996 to the present day we have seen a gradual shift in our turnover from the sale of office products to the production of: wirebound books, calendars, menus,fire notices, poster encapsulation etc. etc. However, the sale of binding and presentation products is still an important part of our business and we are now ideally placed to assist all of our customers with binding and laminating machines to take over production for them if the volumes become too large for them to handle.
The maintenance and repair of office binding and laminating equipment has also been a growing part of our business. By 1993 the necessary skills had been aquired to service and repair virtually any binding or laminating machine on the market.
Around half of our production on encapsulation (lamination) and wire binding comes from the printing industry within about a 100 mile radius of Luton. The balance comes from private industry, local government and education. As we have a close working relationship with many local printers we can now offer the service of duplication from a single book to the production of hundreds or thousands of 'clones'. This service is of great benefit to those customers in the private and local government sector.
The sale of binding and lamination equipment and supplies covers the whole of the U.K. and we have customers from all over the country. With most items we are geared to a next day delivery.
